Is China going to replace the Soviet Union as the new superpower simply due to America's extreme greed?

The Soviet's spent 1 and half trillion fighting a cold war, we seem to sending nearly half of that back into China, simply in the name of cheap products, not caring what the long term conquenses shall be. Is "GREED" truely the issue that will lead to America's downfall or at least the rise of a potentially dangerous adversary?
