Why do "poor" repubs feel the need to defend tax-cuts for uber millionaires?

Trickle down has been a total failure and the US economy would have been a lot better than it is now, were it not for Ronald Reagan and his crazy ideas. Most people don't even know that Reagan was responsible for the BIGGEST TAX INCREASE EVER, after his tax cuts FAILED!!! And his energy policies were despicable. He's the reason we're dependent on foreign oil now, because he undermined Jimmy Carter's vision for energy independence and alternative energy sources. I blame the Republicans for this horrible mess that we are in, now. Oh yeah, to answer your question, poor Republicans constantly vote against their self interests because the Republicans appeal to their greed and a lot of issues that prey on fear and paranoia.
