Why is there an embargo against Cuba?

Because the dictator put in place by the US, Bautista, was overthrown by Castro. A dictator was okay by US standards, it just had to be 'our' dictator. Castro told the US Cuba wasn't one of their 'islands' anymore. When the US got pissy with Cuba, Cuba got chummy with the USSR.
